Hi, anyone know of / making a theme that uses Paypal to handle payments then creates a random (PHP?) link to download the purchase. I can set Paypal buttons up easy enough but the redirect after payment always goes to the same page so there’s nothing stopping one buyer sharing the download url with someone who hasn’t paid, as such I need to redesign the site (it’s a personal project) and am looking for a theme.

Well this isn’t very much a theme it’s like custom scripts you need.
If you also need a theme you need to provide more info.
No one will build a theme like this and put it in the marketplace so it has to be a custom job.

Thanks but I’m sure I saw one on here before.

If you’re just looking for something really simple for the downloadable products you’re selling, this one is awesome:

I know the site they sell it on and the overall presentation is crap, but it’s a lot better than it looks when you first visit, and they provide a lot of documentation and video tutorials. I think there’s a free version and a paid one for like $40 bucks.
Basically, when you activate the plugin, you setup products, and then you can put those links anywhere on your WordPress site with shortcodes for users to either buy the product or add it to a shopping cart (which can be shown with a page, shortcode, or widget). And for digital products it just emails the customer a disguised link to the file that expires after a certain amount of time you set.
You can use just about any plugin out there for this, as most of them either disguise the link as Jason said above or place the downloadable file above your www or public_html folder (see phpurchase)
Thanks everyone I’ll look into it, though I don’t get on with WordPress.
