as the most of you probably have seen that i had some issues my previous template and it got rejected, somebody has told me to stop doing this job or to study years long but i dont think i need either way and now i need some opinion my very new template’s typography please, i did not really do anything apart from typography part of the template, what i all need to know is the line-height letter-spacing, e.t.c. just the typography part please, i have put some example texts, any help is appriciated thank you all very much.
forgot the link lolhttp://cheapunlimitedhosting.eu/new-template/
There is barely anything there to see, If you are asking about three boxes with 13px Verdana, and the 6 heading texts with Arial, then, well .. its not nice. Put some actual content (or even dummy content but with images, icons, all that you think you will be adding) there first.
Also, Are you using any tool to create the HTML markup? There seems to be a lot of nested divs to achieve this very simple layout.
right, i ve just tried to tell that i didnt put anything and i wanted to check the line-heights, word spacing and the content i ve put on home page tells allready that i dont really need any idea about the layout right? it is not html it is xhtml, plus is there any tool that has got background:rgba(0,0,0,0.5); options? or any tool that creates without you putting a content on the pages? and if i have used a tool, how will i end up when it is the time to create the other pages?
and the way i create templates isnt drawing with photoshop or any other softwares, i create a plain index.html and i put everything into css one by one by trying on that index.html, e.g. creating a button and putting it into the middle of the page and taking a look and correcting mistakes
960 grid is allways ready,”too” before the very first line of style.css right? plus font-type does not mean typography, lets say you dont like Verdana or arial but i love them and then? so does that say a person that likes arial doesnt understand what typography is, typography has been found at the 19th century older than many fonts trust me
let me explain you this, i can convert html into psd but not psd to html, u believe or not and believe me not by taking screenshots of the template and pasting into psd
Well, agree, everyone doesn’t have to create a PSD to make HTML template, I am also not that good at creating a complete page PSD first. But what I am saying is that you need to put more content (even if only text) to get the feel of typography. the amount of text you have is not enough (for me at least) to comment on the typography.
Arial and Verdana are nearly close type faces, hence my comment about those. I am also in the learning mode right now, but what I have seen and read so far there should be enough difference between your headings and body (or none at all). Slightly different doesn’t count – see this LINK
