Need suggestions

Yesterday i’ve submitted my WordPress template and today i’ve found my beloved rejection email with the same old message.

1) Your template does not provide a unique enough design with the necessary design quality, features and options to compete in the marketplace at this time. As higher quality templates become available in the marketplace, approval requirements will increase to maintain appropriate marketplace quality. 2) You might consider improving your design with more unique features and graphics in order for it to stand out among other marketplace items. Adding features, options and styles will help increase your template’s value and increase its ability to be approved. However, a unique design will be a key factor for approval. 3) This theme will need improvements and significant changes to meet ThemeForest’s standards in terms of aesthetics since it falls under “similar” template and it doesn’t show any uniqueness to make it stand out.

I simply don’t get it. Can you guys give me suggestions ?

Dear Enova, it is exactly what the reviewer stated, what don’t you understand in the rejection message? This design already exists a hundred times on themeforest. Before reading your rejection I opened the demo and felt like I’ve seen that before. Seems like you were heavily inspired. You will have to change your complete layout.

What i don’t understand is why me? Becouse a few days ago another template with the “same” layout has been approved and is doing nice sales so i still don’t see what’s wrong. The only thing I see is that I threw one month.

I won’t change the layout and transform it in something extravagant (“unique”) to do only 20-30 sales when it get’s approved.

i’ll try to improve the design but i won’t change completely the layout.

Dear Enova, I know someone with a pretty unique design that got 560 sales in 2.5 weeks. Sales are not an equivalent of a certain kind of layout. Sales are an equivalent of quality and beauty.

I do understand how you feel. If you look at the top 5 themes, 4 of them has the same design.

However, you can always improve.

For example, navigation menu on your theme does not look like a navigation at all. Just texts with spacing. You need to add some details.

Maybe you can add some hover states for “purchase” and “follow on twitter” buttons?

You should also improve the contact form design at the bottom.

Because its all about the money

Its sad, but on themeforest is not enough space for unique designs …

From time to time you will see some unique designs, but all in all the guys of themeforest love money and so theys love this standard layout with standard design.
