For creating best mock ups for print media, you have to achieve these Skills :

A Knowing Principals of Graphic Design,Print & Post Print B Understanding of Materials , Shades and Lighting C Learning all about Perspective D Have a sufficient Photoshop Skills

you can easily find great articles about each parts. but experience is the best success key.

But harmonikas996, just an example all my mockups are made from 0 in photoshop and I don’t use photos nor 3D software, Unfortunately I have no tutorials, but it’s all about, to imagine the final object in perspective and transforming smart objects
