Hello everybody. In the beginning i would like to let you know this is a thread for pointed to everybody that lives in the Netherlands, no i’m not rude it’s just that i really need their help.

As some of you already know from my past posts i don’t like the country that i’m living right now and i got a great idea..MOVE :).

So, as Netherland being my favorite country in Europe i thought to give it a try. But before searching for a ticket out of this dump i would like to ask for your advice.

Does anyone know how hard is for someone like me, from abroad, to find a job there? and where can i apply for such jobs?
How hard is to get that working permit?
How much is the rent over there and how hard is to get an apartment?

Thank you for your help.

Hey Pixel, always great to see people who take a stand and do something different with their lives, in hopes of changing for the better. Best of luck to you, brother.

Hey Pixelcloth. You live in Romania right? It’s surely part of the European Union, so you shouldn’t need any work permit for working in another EU country, which is cool. Good luck! Why is the Netherlands your favourite? Other euro countries are nice too :)

We are not fully accepted in the EU, meaning we don’t have the same rights like everybody else. For the new EU countries like Romania & Bulgaria some other rules apply, rules like “we don’t have the same working rights as everybody” (we need a special working permit).

Hi,

Don;t know anything about working permits but i’m sure you will find out more about this at a dutch consulate in your country, i believe in Boekarest is one http://romania.nlembassy.org/

And when you have a working permit i think it’s just best when you rent a cheap room somewhere and just get online and start designing templates and when your work is good enough you don’t have to worry about anything.

Only life costs a lot more here, rent, power, water, taxes, (Yes we need to pay taxes on everything we do, even when we take a shit we have to pay taxes), medical care, food, internet, tv & radio and more.

So just make sure you have a rather steady client base before settling over here so you can keep on doing your freelance work, because finding a normal job would be very difficult when you don’t know the Dutch language.

Hope to see you one day when you’ve made the big step ;), good luck
