Thanks for this.. Btw, definitely agree with Ruben and FInal Destiny. There should be a way to flag inappropriate ratings for review..

Great job guys. Also loving that the feedback is private to the author concerned, makes a lot more sense as this is meant to enable us improve our items! And as VF puts it, lets not open pandora’s box :P

We are all aware that communication is a two-way street. Now buyers can tell us why they are rating low and we can respond by improving our items. Responding any other way will only lead to a squabble, not to mention the extra effort needed to moderate feedback if made public.

The decision to not make these ‘reviews’ public and to only have one way communication was carefully considered. We need to take the first step and learn from it, to make sure we can take the correct next step.

can you share with us some of the arguments that got to this decision?

why lose time creating all the back end for this and then hide it?

apart this :) I’m very happy the website is getting improved day by day. The direction is good.

Just a question, will we be able to see the author of review or only the review itself?

Very big chances you will not see it.

Thanks for the update Stewart, this is easily some of the best news I’ve heard in a while :) Also, are there any future developments regarding the rating of audio items? One of the biggest issues with ratings over on AudioJungle is that the item is fully preview-able/downloadable before purchase, so naturally ratings seem a bit arbitrary, and can do more damage than good in some cases. Just wondered if there had been any discussion on this?

+1

Also, the sentence “help the author improve this item” might suggest a buyer some little improvements in a 2:30 song he fully listened, chose between thousand of other songs and purchased for the good price of 17 dollars.
I mean, choosing a song by a customer it’s already meaning that it’s a 5stars one, why making ring a bell that it could be even better?

I’ve talked to a couple of companies which purchased music from my portfolio and to them it didn’t make any sense to rate a song they had the chance to fully listen to and, even better, download and test it in many speakers and hi-fi systems (mp3 320 kbps is like wav).

I have a good average in ratings but sporadically I saw it going down of some points and guess what? The customer rated poorly a 1 dollar sfx… when he could choose thousand of alternatives. Well THIS makes me ring some bells in my head…

To me, ratings on audiojungle should not exist, by the way, for the rest of Envato community I think this is a good step :)

Yeah I’m afraid of that too, but it makes no much sense in that case.

Review is a serious thing and people should stand behind it with their username.
