PFFFFFFFFFFFF

1. I have got trend icons from VH stuff. Im glad for this.
2. I add to trend icon to my thumbnail, because this not visible in my profile page.
3. Now, VH stuff remove my trend icon and my file looks like fake.

What can i do???

Congratulations on achieving a trending item, therealist, that’s awesome! As our other members have already stated however and as per my previous response here, you can’t artificially add the trending sash to your thumbnails manually. It’s not permitted even if your item IS trending. This is because the trending state can change based on buyer interest and popularity. Allow the dynamic awarding of the trending sash to always dictate whether an item is currently trending.

The very nature and meaning of the word “trending” is that it may dip in and out of trend and it’s not a permanent state. Furthermore, trending pertains to search results right now, not anywhere else. I understand what you’re saying however, I think you make an interesting point. The Search Team could consider applying the trending sash dynamically (when an item is trending) throughout the site – portfolio pages included. There may be reasons why they may not wish to pursue this, but if it hasn’t been shared with the Search Team before, I’ll pass this along to them. Thanks so much for the feedback!

Ok, it’s clear and not problem. I don’t know, the “trend” icon is temporary. But I’m sure, they has been withdrawn because I put it on, not because it is no longer current. (and this could be corrected, if this was a reason) Bye, therealist

I think the trending algorithm is automatic based on various factors,

can staff confirm this?

Absolutely correct, doru:
How does it work? We measure the level of “excitement” that we think the community shows for each item within a specified period of time – as buyers interact with an item, by viewing it, purchasing it or rating it highly, we accumulate these interactions into a level of measured excitement that tracks changes over time. We’re able to calculate the “trending-ness” of an item by looking at how excitement levels have increased or decreased recently, and translating this into a score which we can use to compare items with each other. Items which have seen a rapid growth in excitement in a short period of time will be displayed with a “Trending” indicator when seen in search and can be filtered within search results.”

I argued for an algorithm?

Yes, it’s an algorithm and handled dynamically based on all the combined elements.

A few questions:

Are the “recommendation engine” changes in place yet? If so, since when? If not, when will they be implemented?
