Today we’re releasing two new features – rating reminder emails and a brand new email settings panel.
Starting from today, all purchases will be followed up with an email a week later reminding the buyer to go back and leave a rating for the item. We noticed that most items have very few ratings relative to their sales count, so this will help make sure more buyers remember to go back and rate their purchases after they’ve had a chance to try them out.
We also took this opportunity to consolidate our email settings. We’ve always allowed our users to choose which emails they’d like to receive, but previously these checkboxes were scattered all over the place. The new email settings page should make it easier to see exactly what you’ve chosen to receive.

just great. i was wondering when the emails are sent, but i saw in settings (later edit: and on screenshot at a more closer look) the emails are sent at a week after purchase.

Maybe another feature preventing the buyers from rating before trying the item could be even better I experienced some new ratings being given at 5 seconds after the item was purchased.

Thanks, slightly a related suggestion to improve rating quantity: In the Downloads page, above the rating stars, add something like this:
Please rate this item
As of now the Download section is less indicative about whether the rating is already made or not by the buyer. The empty gray stars are less indicative about that part.
