@Creattive Correct. The ascending / descending arrow is gone in favour of the new, simplified controls. However, one can still navigate to lowest price for example by clicking on the price button, then clicking on the last page, which is always shown in the pager.

isn’t that REALLY backwards?! Sorry but I think that’s a really poor user experience :(

I read through some more of the comments and frankly I’m quite concerned now.

The only thing I can figure is that there is nobody that works in the user experience area of this company that has ever purchased products here. At least to a point that they were not a frequent buyer.

Listen guys, the authors here make some very good points. Creattive and cyzer both point out some very important things. I can also tell you that as a purchaser I’ve bought multiple products from both of them too. More than 3 projects from each at minimum. I signed up as an author a while back and just haven’t had time to get organized enough to submit. I ran into a health issue that forced me off my workstation recently and it’s starting to come back so i might even be down again for a bit. But i don’t know if you’ll listen to me or not but i should point out. While I am not selling products here, I too like cyzer and I’m sure Creattive make a living from this site. The difference is I do it indirectly by purchasing things here as supplemental products to what I offer. I own a design and development studio. We have been in business since 1996. We have, up until about 2012 worked almost exclusively from RFQ’s government projects and referrals/repeat business. In the last couple years we decided to branch out into retail work. That’s when the Wordpress themes came into focus for us. Then in August we began working with video for clients and that’s when Videohive came into focus for us. But that move caused an explosion in work. So that’s where the bulk of my purchases are made, but i still buy many Wordpress themes.

If you start removing features i should warn you. It restricts our ability to find the products we need. When i first responded to this thread I didn’t quite catch that we were going to lose options. I was disappointed that the most obvious needs weren’t being focused on, but how it could even be considered to remove features when the lack of features is by far the biggest issue for us as buyers confusers and worries me, and honestly, without making uneducated statements it begins to make me worry if there could be a disconnect between your staff and the people using the products. There should be a synergy here between what exists and what is needed. The user experience isn’t determined by the masses that make the purchases, it should be determined by what the people who do enough purchasing and selling request as tools to help them achieve their goals. The masses that make the purchases but don’t speak out here end up being much happier and buying/selling more as a result. But the people that care enough to speak out about what they need are more than likely the voice of the entire site. Let’s get everyone on the same page and make this whole thing better for all of us! Let’s focus on what’s missing and not so much on what looks nice. As a buyer I can tell you. I’d buy from the ugliest site with the better tools over the best looking site with the second tier tools every day, and so would an overwhelming majority I would bet.

PLEASE, if nothing else, take a look at what we’re saying, and consider the things we’re asking as a benefit to everyone here. From the authors, to the buyers, to your bottom line. Having both buyers and sellers here making adamant requests tells me that you’ve got a very good thing here. you’ve already got the best product on the market. I know this because I shop at all of your competitors (Which I won’t name), and frankly the quality of work here surpasses every other site on the web, probably three times over. This is, without question, the best site on the web to find these products and you having such a great product is why the best authors are here, and I’d bet the best buyers too since anyone that shops here knows there is nobody even close. In fact, I have not purchased a product outside of Envato in over a year. I should qualify that, there are other places I might look for vector art due to not having quite the inventory here but if I could I would drop every other vendor I use to move exclusively to Envato and I do think that will happen in time.

Please just consider the scope of what we bring up here. This is our livelihood just as much as it is yours. I sense some negatives coming from others and it appears to be due to not feeling like their voices are heard. I can attest to this issue as again, over the recent months I’ve made numerous attempts to just have a dialogue about these things with someone at Envato and have yet to even get a single response. Consider this another attempt at doing so, and know up front I won’t go away with these requests until they’re met. I like this site too much and I get far too many products I need to walk away, but it won’t stop me from trying to have a voice. It’s that important.

I think there is something going on in envato. Maybe a fight or some staff arguing or just some big changes and shifts in headquarters. They are all silent. Something is wrong, this not the envato I used to know.

maybe they got kidnapped by aliens :D

hopefully the marketplace will continue to run by itself for a while but I think we need to buy some tickets to Australia and take the control over the headquarters and access the servers till is too late. If some authors from themeforest come with us we can rebuild a new website from the ground up.

There may be the need to fight the alien presence that invaded Melbourne so we need qualified people who can resist under stress, know how to use weapons and are skilled in deadly combat tactics.

As an author, this is my 3rd to 4th year of wondering: What the problem with you guys on Envato, when it comes to search? Why not implementing specific filters targeted towards each marketplace?

At least until now we didn’t have marketplace / industry specific filters, understandably due to old search mechanism. But now with an upgrade, why you guys have to remove the very generic option of sort order direction? The reason of “simplifying” doesn’t apply here – as we need to help the buyers to go detailed while searching. Not the other way; never never :|

If you have to simplify; please work on the header and remove the top bar of all marketplace buttons. That’s what a real / useful / harmless / sensible simplification when it comes to UI.

Not really sure where you’re getting that feeling from. We’ve had more forum participation from more staff members than I think we’ve ever had :)

is a trap! aliens took control over KingDog account and try to undermine our plan to conquer envato back.
