The last surviving staff member is desperately trying to find any other possible survivors, but unfortunately without success because he is using the search engine…

I think there is something going on in envato. Maybe a fight or some staff arguing or just some big changes and shifts in headquarters. They are all silent. Something is wrong, this not the envato I used to know.
Not really sure where you’re getting that feeling from. We’ve had more forum participation from more staff members than I think we’ve ever had :)

without being confrontational can I ask why then has nobody addressed any of the posts in the last 2 days other than this?

in two days nobody from the staff has responded with anything other than ‘derp’ and this response which doesn’t address anything in the thread.

are there any responses coming??

The search team has been very interested in your feedback and has been thoroughly reading your comments. Changes are going to be ongoing while they work on constructing a more powerful search. The Community Team even received an email last night from the Search Team on your great feedback FastNOC :)

Sometimes we may not update every thread with a “we’re recording your ideas and using it to refine our efforts”, but let me assure you that the Search team is heavily invested in this project and very much values any feedback you can give.

Hmm… The next step we authors and buyers should do is informing the current search team about how long this community is waiting for a search upgrade. Atleast that will help them – Not to remove essential features – before making SINGLE addition.

If new filters or change of pagination type requires removal of something, that’s fine but currently what we see is pulling what already exists – in the name of simplification.

To Staffs: How can you call “we simplified the search” – by removing the essential sort order direction and adding unrelated Microlancer ad banner above the pagination buttons? There is serious problem with work ethics here. This is like closing eyes to make our face look simple while opening the mouth wide permanently. (just imagine lol :D )

Great!

I am so glad that someone is taking a look. Believe me I’m not just throwing out wants without considering the impact on resources. i have a lot of experience in the networking side of things regarding resources, network traffic, db load etc. So what i suggest comes with consideration on all aspects of the site, and i leave out ideas I think would be either too difficult to construct/design or would not have a payback worthy of the effort!

I would like to add something here that pertains to the forum since I’m unloading ideas that may or may not be good :)

There are a couple issues with the process of the forum, and it goes to security. Knowing this without researching you might hav security research this

The forum has a time limit on edits right? That, i assume is done to prevent someone distorting a conversation by editing their older responses.

Did you know that this is easily circumvented? I haven’t done a security review by any means, but just by looking i figured out how I can edit any of my posts, regardless of whether they’ve past the time limit.

If you want me to prove this, I can edit a post from yesterday and show you

Sorry but these kind of posts just lost their meaning to me. You are always telling us you are hearing us, and that statement is actually the majority of staff posts. But we don’t see that you are listening, you may hear us, but you don’t listen. At least that is the only reason I can think of why almost none of our suggestions were adressed in the last years, while you were always doing some other stuff nobody was interested in or did help in any way.

The main thing I saw in the last years was adding features nobody wanted and then eventually remove them shortly after. Now we hear about background color changes and making fancy buttons out of the search filters while the search is broken, we get silly ads to your new favorite-child microlancer all over the place who doesn’t even fit to the style, let alone the crappy header nobody asked for or would dare to upload on themeforest because it would get a hard reject so hard in it’s face that the author would never dare to upload anything again.

So yeah, you are hearing us. But you never listened, nor did anything when it comes to improving the user experience.

edit/ and again, this surely adresses the wrong person, KingDog you are by far the most active staff member here who dares to chime in in a thread like this, so thank you for that, although you are not able to provide us with any good information 90% of the time. (Surely that is not your fault)

KingDog saying I hear you doesnt inform any of us with current state of development and what works are being done to the search. It doesnt tell us anything.

If you want to know about search buggs I will write many of them, just ask me and tell me that anyone from devs are interested in hearing me.

I found a new Bug: write logo in search look at the results. And now go to any logo item and go to its tags and now press on “logo” tag. Results are totaly different.

Actually that one doesn’t surprise me.

chances are they are different queries. where searching ‘logo’ might only search titles, searching the tag might include descriptions

totally guessing, but that would make sense. Course, that does bring up the point that you should be able to search and qualify it by searching either titles, tags, descriptions or any combination of those.

I guess searching for logo searches tags, title and description, while clicking on the logo tag only shows you files that also have logo tag. Would make sense to me.
