Would love to see something like KBRmedia suggested in another thread:

Thank you Envato developers for all your hard work – I appreciate what you guys are doing.

Very happy for my MediAGrid and GlobalGallery.. not too much for FontPress and Mail Action add-on. :D

If I can make a suggestion: place the ratings detail block UNDER the sales number and profile ones.
In my opinion they are more important.

BTW, the rating chart is a great thing. See that the majority of the customers voted 5 stars is a great incentive.

As a new author i must say:

1.New authors perhaps can commit ‘beginner errors’ and things like that, it is my case, i got bad ratings and worked for 3 months to improve my support system, but the first bad rating are there, also in case now i am getting good ratings always.

2.This system is like telling author : Hey guys, please do whatever the most noob buyer can ask you for FREE, if you want your items 5 stars.

3.What can we do to improve buyer rating when you have spent the last 2 days configuring any small aspect of his site as he tells you, allthough they are wordpress beginners questions 99% ?

4.Definitively this rating system is getting 80% of my time giving support to noobs and not improving site code.

Please if some experienced author could give their opinion it would be great.

thank you.

Well, seems like there are a lot of people now that don’t quite like the new rating system.

http://codecanyon.net/forums/thread/new-feature-ratings-breakdown/96703 http://codecanyon.net/forums/thread/removing-unjustified-1-star-ratings-/96755

Lets hope for Envato’s Dev team do something about this in the near future, and hopefully they’ll also re-consider the way of developing/releasing new features.

I give an idea.

1.Let Author rate buyers so anyone can meet the politeness lazy ones. For example give low rated buyers a less powerfull rating, let’s say the buyer rates 1 star and it for examples counts as 1/4 vote or something like this.

Other example, when you have bought 20 themes have power rating, 40 themes, elite rating power, 50 themes top elite rating power…etc, so they would rate the people that really uses this as a tool in their works, not the people that has only a blog

2.Dedicate more people and work in rating system(reviewing and approving ratings from authors and buyers), i think so important think like this cannot go autopilot when you are earning so much money as in this case. It is just as important us Bad rating = bad selling

What do you think guys??

Regards :)

if the buyer paid for the item he can rate how he wants. ( he want to rate 1 star? fine with me. he paid the item he bought the right to rate. )

optional he can leave a comment together with the rating. text review system should be present but should be optional.

what will happen is that if we will have 100 buyers, then there will be 10 to 20 star ratings. maybe 5 to 10 text reviews.

I can assure that a potential buyer will check the written reviews first since it will show him if other people had problems or not with the item.

Buyer already leave text reviews. Some of them purchase an item and leave a comment something like “Worked great. awesome. No problem. I love you!” or “This was crap. I hate you all!”. This types of comments will appear as text reviews if the buyer had this option but there will be a star option nearby, the comments will get more weight.

Well, seems like there are a lot of people now that don’t quite like the new rating system.

There’s also a lot that do :) Changes like this can never make everyone happy, but the feedback we’ve received today will help us iterate to a great solution much faster than we could have done behind closed doors.

So, since you’ve collected enough feedback already, rollback and work with no hurry behind closed doors :)
