Hi everyone, just a quick update to let you know we’re adding new fields to the upload pages for AudioJungle and VideoHive authors. The new fields are:

  • “Number of sound effects” for AJ>Sound Effects category to capture the total number of unique sound effects in your submission.
  • “Number of clips” for VH>Stock Footage and Motion Graphics categories to capture the total number of unique items or “clips” in your submission.
Both fields are mandatory.

What it will look like on AudioJungle

The field will only be present on the Sound Effects submission form and it will look like the image below:

Only whole numbers may be entered into the field (no text). The number you enter should be the total number of unique sound effects in your submission.

What it will look like on VideoHive

The field will only be present on the Stock Footage and Motion Graphics submission forms and it will look like the image below. Only numbers may be entered into the field:

Only whole numbers may be entered into the field (no text). The number you enter should be the total number of motion graphics/stock footage clips in your submission. So for example, if you include 5 different clips of a speeding race car within your zip file, you would enter “5”.

Why are the new fields being added?

These new fields could help buyers better understand how many items are included with your submission and we will be integrating this information into the item page. They could also allow buyers to search and sort based on number of items included in a future update to our search tool.

When will they be released?

These new fields will be launched in the next few days and we just wanted to give you a heads-up before that happens. For those with existing content, you have the option to update your item, but it’s not required. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions!

Great! (And finally this mystery is solved ;) )

Btw, I hope that this field is already defaulted to 1, like it’s shown on example images, because most of the times there is only one clip.

Lets say, I have a video clip and i want to add alpha channel on it, so it would be saved as *.mov (png squence) with alpha channel. Size of that file would be rather huge and one could have more than one in zip archive, and that would probably exceed upload size limit. So instead, video files could be saved as *.mov (photo jpg) sequence plus another file which would be used for “lumma matte” to artificially created alpha channel on our *mov (photo jpg) sequence. I hope this make any sense? :) Question is, do we add both files to total number of video clips, or just one? This question might be irrelevant, but when customer ask “why did you say 2 clips and there’s just one inside” or vice versa its wont be funny anymore. I was going to ask the exact same thing.

That’s his actual picture – he is gray and doesn’t have a face – don’t judge him :)
