Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a quick line here to mention that we just added a frame rate attribute to all files in all sections. I think it’s probably most important in Stock Footage and Motion Graphics, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have in the other categories as well.

There’s also an “other” value for anything else, and “N/A” which is mostly to be used for projects where the frame rate can be changed by the user.

Right now it’s just more information, but down the line when we have an improved search, users will be able to filter against all fields including this one. So it may be a good idea to update your items to include this new information. It doesn’t require review, so pop into the edit page of your item, make the change, and save it out.

Yeah, me too. It was one of those attributes that should have been around since day one, and it just slipped my mind when I was laying out the upload pages. Brian emailed me a few weeks ago suggesting we add it in, and I had one of those D’oh moments. So, thanks Brian!

I think for project files it is not needed at all. After effects even when it uses footages, it keeps the original frame rate of the clip. Setting fps or the “N/A” (not available) option, I’m afraid could make some ignorent clients have second thoughts on purchasing.

agree you may want to think how to present it carefully, otherwise many newbies might incorrectly think they couldn’t use a 25fps PAL project for their 29.97fps NTSC project in their NLE or vice versa…

Then we should have option, something like “re-framable” in terms that user can change frame rate (which is obvious).

I think I may just have the frame rate removed from the Projects and Cinema4D sections.

Sounds like a plan. Otherwise, it might get buyers worrying about a problem they never knew existed.
