Welcome oyinlade.

You have to use adobe after effects for editting after effects files.
Apple motion for motion templates.

You can use the forms to find some authors to edit the files for you if you don’t have the skills to edit the templates.

Since you don’t have buyer badge, I suppose you downloaded free file of the month. You need after effects cs4 or newer version in order to edit project.

Hi Oyinlade (Sounds like a Yoruba name to me :) Naijan perhaps ?)

Welcome to Videohive Marketplace.

You didn’t make it clear what file you purchased. If the file you purchased was in the category STOCK FOOTAGE or MOTION GRAPHICS, – things like a globe turning, or a city time lapse, then you can’t edit them – they are sold ‘as is’. But assuming it was from the category After Effects Projects, then you use the programe Adobe After Effects (known as AE) to edit the text, replace with your footage/logos and tailor to your needs.

Don’t worry though. It is NOT as daunting as it looks and a really easy learning curve. Editing the files and tailoring it to your needs will after a short time become second nature. You will also find, that the more you edit files, the more you learn how they are created – even soon you will be creating your own templates, and i will have competition !

Hint: – To get starting, download a 7-day free trial copy here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=after_effects&loc=en_gb you can also buy a discounted student edition (if you qualify).

Also, remember that After Effects is not backwards compatible. (If the file you bought was created in AE CS6, it wont work if you have an older AE CS5 version), so be careful to read the notes on the video project BEFORE you buy to see if it’s compatible.

Let me know how you get on.

Regards

Panda

Not quite true Dorde – sometimes the badges show up a day or even a few days AFTER, so it wasn’t really fair to assume he hasn’t bought the project.

So my guess was accurate :)
Just download free trial as Panda-Bear said and customize project by yourself. Project must contains step by step documentation or video tutorial for inexperienced after effects users, so I’m sure you will done it without problems.
Welcome to VH and good luck.
