New marked: Theme for Webcomics!

Hey guys,

I have noticed that some of you excellent coders are always looking for new markeds to enter … and here is one that there are NONE of on Themeforrest:

Themes for Webcomics!!!

As a comicbookartist myself I have been searching high and low for a theme that I could customize in some way, so that it would fit as a Wordpress-driven site for displaying comics. But so far none have suited my needs. Then yesterday I found there are a couple of free plugins and small themes that do just that, but they aren’t really all that good visually. I noticed they have several hundreds downloads each week … so this is really a marked that someone could go into and make some money (I would think).

Anyways … this is just an idea I’m throwing out there. And if anyone wants to go ahead with it, I would be more than happy to help out, as I know what a theme for webcomics SHOULD be able to do.

It’s an interesting idea. Could you post some links to websites that do the kind of thing you’re talking about?

Wouldn’t that be just a more simpler portfolio page? O_o

There are many great webcomicsites out there, just do a google for it. But here are a couple really great ones, that are very userfriendly:

http://www.pvponline.com/ (it’s actually done on WP)

http://www.comicspace.com/ (not very pretty at all, but has lots of content)

http://www.globalcomicjam.com/index.php (actually this is mine … I’m hoping to get something to trasfer this sucker to WP)

-There is actually a plugin called “webcomics” at WP, that works pretty well, as I understand it. But it’s mountains of work to get it to look pleasingly.
