So I recently released EnvatoUpdate, an app for Windows that lets you monitor your account, sales, earnings, etc. However, being that I’m actually a Mac user, I wanted something that I could use without booting up a whole other operating system.
So, I’ve created a dashboard widget for OS X . It’s only been tested on 10.5, but may work on 10.4 as well. You can download the widget here:
http://www.labusdesign.com/EnvatoUpdate.zip
Simply unzip the file and double click the widget to install it.
It gives at a glance account info, including your current balance, total earnings/sales, and recent earnings/sales history. Additionally, it will alert you of any new sales.
Here’s a screenshot of the widget as well (note that the green alert bar is not always visible):

And of course, I’d appreciate any comments, suggestions, bug reports, advice, etc!
Just installed this widget. It looks beautiful. Seems to work fine.
One bug, that I’ve found. The total earnings sometimes is wrong when I view the widget. When I hide it and go back it is right again. Not really sure why it’s doing that.
Does it look like it’s a huge number? If so, I’m still working on fixing that.

Looks awesome and functions perfectly for me so far, great job, blabus!
One very, very minor observation – “Sales” and “Earnings” are clickable buttons but it may not be obvious to all users that these are clickable. So for the sake of usability perhaps this could be tweaked a little bit? Have arrows to the left and right of the earnings/sales for example, with a rollover effect so users know it’s clickable. Earnings and sales stats could then slide left and right into the main display. Perhaps show “Page 1 of 2” as well to further indicate that there are multiple stats/pages to view. This mechanism would also facilitate extra pages/stats in the future as you add them and expand the app.
Despite this suggestion I don’t want to lose sight of the fact however that this is an awesome app, great job!
@scottwills: Thanks for the suggestions! Yes, I do know it isn’t very clear that the labels are clickable. For now I think I’m going to just modify the text for them, and then I’ll work on adding a slider mechanism (as it’s not a 5 minute task
).
Again though, thanks for the tips/suggestions- it really helps me to improve the app!
P.S. Can anyone confirm that the new sale alerts are working correctly as well? I’ve not had much activity lately.

Very cool, I like the LED style font.
This widget is cool. One thing: it says I had 34 sales for June. I wish. =) The listing has June, July, then June again with the 34 sales. Maybe since I’ve only been on for a few months it’s doing some fuzzy math? When I change it to earnings it reveals a clue: it lists totals for june “space” july: total.
Looks nice. I hope I’m being constructive and giving thanks BTW . Cool widget. I can grab my screen if that helps.
PS. Can someone give me a vote? I think the way the popular script is set up in Envato you have to have votes to make it. I have a song that’s been purchased 3 times and I’m nowhere to be found in popular. Yet, there’s tons of songs purchased twice showing up.
Thanks!
pretty sweet!
the numbers are a little hard to read but, I can still make them out.
Good Stuff!
