Hello Everyone,

Well, as the subject says, I am new to submitting logos and am trying to get a general feel and understanding on what can be approved or rejected. I’ve been uploaded and selling flyers and invitations here for close to 8 months and would like to diversify my portfolio and enter the logo market. My first and only logo design I submitted a couple days ago has been hard rejected and any advice on the reason for its rejection would be appreciated from anyone within the community, especially anyone specializing in logo design. I uploaded the designs as AI and EPS extensions. The text is an outlined object. I had the different color themes in their own folders. Perhaps, this is just a case of my item being too simple? Yet, I see logos that look beyond simple in the market. I welcome all constructive criticism and look forward to your responses. Thank you in advance.

My hard rejected item is linked below:

I like your logo icon simple and effective. Also what if you add some Chinese sticks somehow integrated with that elements on the plate. I can’t say the same about fonts you used that slab serif doesn’t work so well with icon’s rounded elements. In my opinion some rounded font would be more fit with your icon.

About technical requirements for uploading I do followings for my logos:

  • 1. Keep the font and specify the download link
  • 2. Save the logo as .ai CS4, CS6 and .eps 10
  • 3. Do 3-4 color variations
  • 4. Do the logo B&W, Negative an Positive state
  • 5. Integrate a text line for slogan (for exemple. Your tagline here)
  • 6. Create the logo in both state vertical and horizontal

  • Thanks for the reply SomethingDesign. I’ll take note of your suggestions. On the EPS 10 extension, when I usually save to EPS from Illustrator CS5, I don’t recall ever being given that option to save to EPS 10. I just select the EPS extension and it saves. Does it, by default, save to EPS 10? Again, thanks for the suggestions, I’ll reference them for my next logo project.

  • Keep the font as in ‘no-outlines’ ? I mean, to keep it as it is (editable text) and not as an outlined vector?
