In November when the new standards come into place and all non wordpress default features must be plugins rather than included in themes, I am wondering what will authors do in place of their current page builders?

Will you re-code your page builder as a plugin? Is it already a plugin? Will you use an open source version?

I have seen several themes use the Visual Composer plugin from codecanyon. Does anyone know if this will be allowed to be used in themeforest themes?

Why not use this beauty? http://wordpress.org/plugins/siteorigin-panels/

Add it as a ‘required’ plugin on your TGM plugin activation class and done! I have been using it for client’s sites and it works really nice. Also, it uses widgets instead of special blocks like visual composer, so it’s just a matter of including those widgets you like using TGM as well and just style them accordingly.

I can’t recommend this one enough;

Sure, it’s doesn’t have some of the premium feel that visual composer does, but you can require it as a plugin properly and completely conform to standards :)

Really this is best plugin I have ever seen in free category and using my upcoming WordPress theme with TGM activation from WordPress repo, then there wont be any 100% GPL issues and all.

I’m a bit confused with the new standards, it will apply starting November or not, the title say “In Draft”, also it does not specify a certain date as Phase 1 did.

Same question here, just contact support staff and see how they had to say about this :)
