I was wondering that as well. Perhaps 10 at most (some bundle)?

I have one and is there because I forgot that motion video needs to be 10 seconds long and I’ve made mine 8 seconds.

WTF. Such a stupid time wasted. I really hope it’s kind of a testing zone for the long claimed better search engine.

The great Search Engine upgrade myth

In about 8 years of this site, there has been minimal advancements in search, besides adding tags, and perhaps tweaking the displaying of results to “be fair”

Envato won’t drastically improve search, because it will negatively effect top authors. The key areas for sales are 1) Home 2) Popular Files pages 3) Search. We all know that the home page exposure is a small window, so popular files page is where most files get noticed, and search usually shows the most sold related items. If Envato changes the search to show case any type of file, and not the topsellers, it will drastically change the popular files page aswell as a knock on effect. This would cause an outcry amongst top authors, who won’t generally mention issues with search or slow homepage exposure, because the system how it currently is, works in their favour – big time.

How do I know this… well I use to stay top author for the month on ActiveDen without uploading files for a whole year – the popular files page / and search results were all in my favour. If they didn’t change the search engine then, they won’t do it now running the risk at upsetting their top authors – Envato’s stance would be that it would seem unfair to change the system which is making their elite authors rich so the others must just hope for the homepage exposure lottery instead.

The marketplace platform works initally to drive sales and get authors involved, but once it exeeds a certain amount of authors, then it’s usually who ever got in early will benefit. Envato needs to evolve the platform while the marketplace grows, it’s literally the same structure since 2008 – except home page exposure is down from a week to a day, and the amount of new authors has grown exponentially.
