I’ve uploaded 4 business cards on GR. But never sold a single item! What is going wrong?! I am a bad designer or I don’t understand the trend? Any suggestion would be appreciated.
There are over 10000 business cards now, you’d have to be lucky to sell yours instantly. The category is highly saturated, so you need to be consistent in making new designs and expand your portfolio. You also need to be creative as much as possible, following the trend is sometimes not the best way to go.
Make 40 business cards for a start and you’ll notice increase in sales.
Also you should think on marketing them in your social networks or design portfolios & website.
No, you are not a bad designer, i really like your business cards, but consider that for every file you upload there are other 10 (at least) the same quality as yours (at least, again ) uploaded in the same day maybe even hour. So you must do something inovative, something to stand out from the large mass of files. Adding more keyword is usefull to start with, maybe trying to promote your work via social media or some other sites. Anyway dont give up, keep creating quality items and the sales will come. Good Luck!
Thanks. What I understood from your replies, I need to design something more innovative (which is not usually found on GR), add more items to my portfolio and promote my works through social media. I’ll do all three of these and see if my luck favors me. Again, thanks for the encouragement. @Demorfoza, LuisFaus and Madalincmc
I reommend not focusing on one category (like business cards) and trying to upload variety of items.
Don’t get disappointed and upload more items.. good luck.
Everyone starts like this , but if you keep going on ,you will see the changes
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll switch to some other category! What about product mockups or Photoshop brush sets? These are really popular! What do you think? @Deep_Blue
I guess so! Thanks! I will keep trying.@Cata05
Also keep in mind that GR doesn’t really do anything to promote your items apart from the “new items” snippet on the front page that comes and goes within a couple of hours. (I consider the search almost irrelevant as many categories are so over-saturated).
You need to be out there hustling to get people to notice that your items exist.
