Anyone else is kinda fed up with the sheer number of portfolio templates here ? On one hand, you could say that as long as people are buying them, we should make them. But I’m afraid this kind of thinking will hinder creativity and be negative in the long term.

There must be other type of sites on the internet besides portfolios and corporate websites !

We’re here to earn money, not to push internet design forward. As long as portfolio themes will be profitable, we will keep making them, it’s a business my friend :)

I’ve stopped developing themes that aren’t portfolio’s because the other types of templates do not sell to the same level as these do, so I for one am not going to start making other themes, portfolio themes sell, we’re here to make money, its common sense, why would I spend ages on a template and it sells 5 times, there’s no point.

Portfolio templates sell. Besides, they don’t have to be used as a portfolio. They serve multiple goals.

As long as the quality doesn’t suffer, I don’t see any problem with the abundance in number. The demand for these types of templates is pretty high after all.
