I guess we should, try to ask the “devil” to please STOP , and pray.
Well well well, the generation who downloaded all the music and games and didn’t care– now starts to care when it hit’s it’s own ankle.
Don’t take this too seriously, I don’t want to ruin great debate.
Well Well Emil, Not the same thing. Because if you ask me yes i downloaded music before when a CD was $20-30 and actually i wanted to have 1/2 song from the album we are talking about 10/15 years back right? Also, i was not make hundreds or thousand copy and resell. Also i payed the ticket for the Concert which was around the same price right? Then the new era came and $1-2-3 for a music seemed like a fair deal. So things are changed. And not because i grew up but because they realized the reality and flew down back onto this planet. But here the situation a bit different. Here people take our images, add-ons, templates mostly doing business. Create money. Even who leaking the things from here doing this to redistribute our stuff. in 2012, and we are talking micro payment. And we authors are here, everybody can contact with us, ask for help, talk personally we are not faceless giants but flesh and blood people. So i dont think so you can compare that time with this, and that situation with this here.
Just read the latest note by envato concerning this problem and if thats “it” what we waited for weeks now, i couldn’t be more disappointed.
Mostly embarrasing in this context is the term “protect YOUR files”...even if this is legaly correct- concerning the copyright – it feels totaly wrong in this topic…. i think we should be talking about “OUR” Files, since GR has the right of distribution and gets its cut from every sale. And obviously the protection of distribution is the problem.
My last hope is, that this latest note is just a short feedback before a more detailed comment of envato is published in a few days….otherwise it would be to clear, that no one really cares as long as enough new authors throw their work in the hole.
don’t get me wrong…i used to love gr and all the other envato marketplaces, held them in high regard for their fairness and great community, but nowadays it’s really hard not to feel used and left alone…
ENVATO … are you joking now right? please tell me its a joke… Guys. It’s not 1st of April. Guys, are you really get that what is the risk what are you taking right now? Are you really dont understand whats going on our side here? No need to have an alternative of your site. Authors will leave, not because they will go to an another site. Just simply, will put down the pencil. Why?? why is it not obvious???
Why did you even bother making a Notes post when it just states the obvious?
This we already knew dear Envato thanks for nothing! The point was to give us more freedom by finding a solution and not to tell us the obvious! Nowadays is like 10 hours sending DMCA notice and 2 hours design! R U SERIOUS ? Great solution finder….Not!
Are you guys sure that this is Envato’s answer to our subject?http://notes.envato.com/authors/how-you-can-protect-your-copyright/
Cuz this seems like some sort of bad joke.
if this is Envato’s answer, I’m done here. Not uploading for at least next 6 months.
I hope that is not the answer of this topic and if this is really Envato’s answer let us leaving this place because it’s not serious decision and we know really the problems of Piracy and DCMA ….. what’s new ??
Today I found my new item shared in just 2 sales and I spend 6 days to make it!! it’s really profitable ??
I think there are no solutions here and Envato will not change the rules…
What can we do ??
