I decided to disable my page file because I was tired with the sound and slowness of swapping.

I have 4GB maybe not too much but I rarely use it all the way to the max. I’m usually around 2-3GB, the rest is wasted or I don’t know. I’m testing the pagefile-ness now, and it works like a charm. Got some not enough memory windows but there was still 1gb free so I made the window disabled and hid it (via an advanced task manager so it can’t bug me anymore:D). Switching back to minimized programs is instant! Anyone else decided to ditch the pagefile and ran into problems?

Did you know that your feeling of speed in terms of everyday general computer use depends on the speed of HDD ’s? I’ll buy 2×32gb SSDs or a configuration similar to that and put them together with RAID just for the OS, softwares and games. It does not have to be data secure (no data mirroring so the total capacity is 64gb, etc), that would increase the speed. Also in my next sytem I’ll aim for 8GB of 2ghz RAMs.
