So here I am again… spending nearly $50 on a theme that is not accurately advertised. Theme says it was responsive and come to find out it is not responsive. Other have stressed the same issues that I have after purchasing the theme and finding out it is not responsive.

I’ve come across this way too many times and yet I don’t see any type of punishment for authors who put up false claims for their products. So where is the punishment for this type of behavior? It seems like it just gets brushed under the rugs. I think that if you put false claims up for your products, you should immediately have your files removed and not be able to resubmit them as punishment. We spend good money on these products with good faith in mind, yet where is our peace of mind and buyer protection at?

Instead of creating a forum post you could and should have just contacted the envato support team.

If your claims are true you will not only receive a full refund, the theme in question will be most likely taken down, or at least soft disabled until everything works, as well.

Just because envato does not publish a list of files removed and authors punished it does not mean they dont do it, there is just no reason to do it in public.

I did contact support before making this post.

My claims are true, if I was allowed to post the link to the file, I would and you would see for yourself.

When you’ve spent as much money as I have and purchased as many products that I have that are falsely advertised, you will understand where I’m coming from as a buyer. There needs to be some type of buyer protection set in place for us.

I fully understand where you are coming from, when i buy something i too expect everything to work.

But there is a buyer protection already in place, if your claims are true (i am not saying they are not) you will receive a refund and you are free to leave a comment as well as a rating on the items page to ensure your voice gets heard.

I am not sure what else you want envato to do.

No, you do not receive a refund, you receive a credit, which is not the same thing.

Was the live demo responsive? It seems like an easy thing to verify before purchase

I am also curious about this .. It’s impossible to not see that a theme is not responsive before buying..

I mean .. you saw it was responsive. Why didn’t you simply check if it was before buying? :-/

i’m sorry, but something’s missing here..

No, you do not receive a refund, you receive a credit, which is not the same thing.

This is simply because deposits cannot be withdrawn. A refund basically reinstates your deposit.

Regarding your purchase, even if you should always check the demo thoroughly, this does not mean you’re not entitled to a refund. Wait for support to reply.

If a theme is sold having certain features but when installed properly with any important options turned on it doesn’t work as advertised then there needs to be a refund.

I guess you meant to say what I edited above? That would be true, but judging from his buyer badge and forum activity, I kinda trust he knows what he’s doing ;)
