It would be cool if we could receive more notification emails about how our themes are doing. I got a notification when my templates were approved, but that’s it so far.

I’d love to be notified when:

1. A comment is posted about my theme. 2. Someone purchases my theme. 3. Someone rates/reviews my theme.

I think the best way to do it would be to just have a subscribe link per item to get notifications about a specific item. That way it can be turned on and off.

Hey guys, good ideas about the notifications. However, in the meantime this may be useful to you. I do this myself (hmm turning into another addiction thread), put the following URL in your feed reader and substitute the username and you’ll be notified when someone leaves a comment on your theme:

http://activeden.net/feeds/user_item_comments/USERNAME.atom

I did get a bit obsessed with checking each template more than a couple of times a day for new comments. At least now I only check my feed reader, which I check anyway :)

That’s a fantastic substitute for now, thanks!

Hi flips, that’s a good alternative solution but some people like me don’t always check feed reader (I mean, what’s the difference with checking the dashboard?). It would be much better if there is an option to subscribe via email, could be something like “subscribe via email” like the one on top of each thread in the forum.

This would be an awesome feature, not only for the creators of templates, but also for buyers – They could get email notifications when authors they follow add a new template. To get notifications for updates for items you’ve bought could be another great feature.

I think feedburner has an option to send new feed items via email. I didn’t tested it so far…

revaxarts is right. you cna use feedburner to have any feed to do many things, including signup for your own feed’s as emails—and you will get emails once a day, in the evenings usually, of all new items.

If you want them immediate, use can use some other service like a friendfeed or twitter that will post out and you can receive text messages when something new is posted form that feed.

and for buyers we need an email to notify us when theirs an update, having to check back periodically is a real pain :(
