Since there is for the moment no option on the marketplaces to notify customers when you release a new version of your script/template, I’m creating a list of my customers and people that are interested in my items.

Good idea Sitebase, I’ll consider doing a similar thing myself if I get into CodeCanyon and ThemeForest (which hopefully won’t be long :P ).

I’m sure a lot of people will follow your example. :)

@Sitebase i had to edit your post to make it look a lot less like self promotion, feel free to post that link in your items description pages to get buyers to subscribe toy your email updates, but the forum isn’t a suitable place for this. :)

On the other note, i agree this is a very good idea… i will do this for all of my new items and for some of my older items too. I will also allow, for some items, a in-app subscription to the newsletter from the administration panel which they can either hide or use, it will make it that little bit more effortless to keep in the loop :)

While a good idea, it is one more thing to maintain/update. I just use RSS feeds and twitter.

Sorry that it looked like a spammy post but my english is not that good, so things can be interpreted wrong when I write something down :). It was totally not my intention to do self promotion. I just wanted to help my customers because I get this question a lot to keep them up to date.

I added the link to my profile pages so if you want to subscribe you can find the link on my profile page: http://codecanyon.net/user/Sitebase
