In reference to the recent update, I just need to understand why the new app icon looks exactly like the Nintendo 64 logo.

In reference to the recent update, I just need to understand why the new app icon looks exactly like the Nintendo 64 logo.![]()
I think people see the resemblance between the two because they both are a 3D ‘N’, but next to each other the two are nothing like each other. N64 logo is in full color and is a lot simpler shape than Nvator’s N. I did compare Nvator logo with N64 and I don’t think the two have a case against each other besides both being in 3D.
Comparing to ten other logos on my iphone I think that Nvator logo kicks ass. Most iPhone developers can’t design a logo to save their lives. However I do see that people are not going to leave this alone so here is how I see things:
The main issue regarding the Logo design is that Nvator app has not generated any money. I’ve pocketed $0 because Apple wont pay developers unless they have accumulated a decent sum which Nvator is far from, selling at 90 cents per app. This makes it really difficult to justify paying anyone to design a logo for it.
Right now, I think Nvator is about the value that you get, not the logo. I’ve spent more than 120 hours developing and debugging the app. Even though it’s not generating any money I’m still developing it, but I can’t throw money at it because its a dead investment from the sales point of view.
So Jeffrey, I hope that you give the look of Nvator a pass mark having heard all this

@DenonStudio – Oh don’t get me wrong, I think the icon looks awesome! But there are definite similarities, in my opinion.
Not a big deal either way. Was mostly teasing. But yeah – ALL iPhone marketplace authors should buy it.

it’s still very new I think, and I must say I love this app like everyone do here….... it’s the best iphone app for our marketplaces yet, you did an awesome work, and time comes money.. you gonna sell more with it as the Envato network is growing and growing
and for now that logo works, it’s decent…... but we all wish us an unique logo, like this app is, as we love your app, sure its not gonna happen from today to tommorrow
sooo keep up the great work you do
we should promote it maybe more with a banner on the Themeforest homepage… what you think about that Jeffrey?

Definitely. It’s been a while since it was promoted on the blog, so now would be a good time. Great idea. Will do so this week.
