Hi all,

Just curious if anyone is getting this message in their Gmail account when receiving an email through Videohive from buyer or potential buyer…..

This message may not have been sent by: potentialbuyer@gmail.com Learn more Report phishing

*Note, It doesn’t say “potentialbuyer”, I just put that there to hide the real user’s email.

It’s happened the last couple of messages I have received. They are valid emails as I am able to reply back and forth, just seems odd that I am getting this message. I looked into it a bit on google and it said it has to do with some sort of authentication process that Gmail needs to have or else it will send this message. I guess I just don’t want any future messages to be automatically put in my spam folder because gmail thinks it some sort of threat which means I miss reading someone’s email.

I do have a ticket I submitted with Envato, just waiting for a response from them. In the meantime, maybe one of you out there may have an answer for me.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I have the same issue. Gmail will identify the mail as potential phishing because the mail appears to be send by the buyers mail but in fact is send by envato. This triggers gmail spam and protection filters. gmail thinks someone wants to scam you.

Good to know ….well it’s not a good thing…but good to know that someone else is having this issue.

Hopefully I will get an answer soon on how this can be fixed from Envato.

Being that it’s Gmail setting, there’s not really anything we can do to fix it from our side :)

Thanks KingDog, I guess I will have to change my email. I’ll first see what happens with the next few emails that come in through Videohive from buyers to see if it keeps happening and then proceed from there.

Funny thing is that the replies I have received from this thread to my Gmail account have not generated that error at all, they all come in clean, so, Gmail is acting funky.

damn you gmail

cheers
