As far as I can tell that’s the rate in London :( Perhaps something a bit outside of the town would be cheaper.
Careful though, at the kind of time you’d likely be going back to the hotel your only real option might end up being a Taxi, and they don’t come cheap down in London town!

When does the tube shut then?

Night buses will be running and with a little pre-planned research they will save you a big chunk of wedge.

^ Last tube runs at about 12:50 ish I think.

Guys, I live in London, literally 20 minutes away from the event place, my living room is quite spacious and if you bring sleeping bags I can fit a few in here and we can watch movies and have a few drinks if that’s all right :) just a lovely home feeling, otherwise here is a map showing all the hotels in London, https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=41+Gracechurch+St,+City+of+London+EC3V+0BT&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x48760352fa941e89:0xe82b87f8be8869ee,41+Gracechurch+St,+London+EC3V+0DN&gl=uk&ei=duZ3UuniHaGM7Qbpp4CoBw&ved=0CC4Q8gEwAA

Some buses operate all night, the underground closes at around 00:30 to 00:50 on Saturdays here is the schedule http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/1129.aspx

Do not take taxis, call for mini cabs if you are travelling far.

Messaged :D! Found a place that’s about £17 a night and a 30 minute walk from the place, says private rooms but I imagine it’ll be shared – Would much prefer with people from the community than random people!

If a few people decide to come over, I’ll happily lend my living room :)

Hey guys,

I am staying here – http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/cedars-house.en-gb.html?sid=7b4be56c350696039ee4f3688e043ad0;dcid=2 – They say to have wifi, and the room is not shared so everything seems ok. It’s 75 pounds per 2 nights and they have one room left if you want it.

Just some stuff:

1. I land friday at 15:35. I don’t have anything to do on Friday. Would anyone want to join up for visiting the city ?

2. Question for Londoners. I depart at 8:05 in the morning from the LGW airport. So I should be at 6:30 at the airport. My hotel is 23 km from the airport, so I should leave at 5:30, do buses run so early in the morning ?

PS: Too bad the OP will not make it. Would have loved to meet you MSFX.

Croydon is really far from the event place, you will need to take two trains to get to central London and when the event finishes at midnight I recommend you take a mini cab (not taxi) to your hotel, which will be around £20 £30 pounds.
