It would be great if authors who experience price changes could get notified via email about the change.

or have the price changes an opt in thing, some authors live of Envato income and if a price swing in a item(either up or down) drastically changes the authors profits thats kinda of a big deal.

+1 – please ask my permission before altering the agreed pricing of any of my current items – thanks.

do you have some custom contract with envato about your item pricing?

I was under the impression that they can alter the prices how they want without author permission.

Nope I do not, however it’s common courtesy with a partnership to just not up and change prices on the other person without discussing first, and the fact that Envato have had a structure for pricing that I and my buyers are accustomed to would be looked upon as an agreement – they have a history of pricing and that would be the basis for an agreed pricing structure in the partnership.

I’m not asking for anything out-of-the-ordinary here – just some courtesy and you know, actually opening the doors for discussion rather than this heavy-handed approach – I don’t think that’s unfair to ask for at all.

It will also be good to keep us all informed about the result and the possible permanent changes in the future. I’ll greatly appreciate it :)
