The top is waaay too busy.
The thing that stands out as not fitting in at all is the menu bar with that strong border and the barber pole effect above it.
Perhaps have a look at the true purpose of this theme. If it is an ecommerce site then would a user really want a news scroller up top cluttering the header?
Not sure having a fixed width non-responsive 1232px-wide menu is clever, either.
That barbie-doll photo is giving me the creeps as well
