A lot of authors on themeforest.net copy Orman’s minimal style, why? Did they have his own style to design? It’s not fair!

omg…”Orman’s Minimal Style”...sorry but I can only laugh…how ridiculous.

Oh, and by the way: “good designers copy great designers steal”

Yeah, exactly.

Anyway, please try and refrain from creating threads about specific authors. I understand you aren’t putting anyone down specifically but it could easily turn that way.

For those of us (me) who find most (not all) “minimal” themes equivalent to a white piece of paper, it’s kinda hard to call it a style much less copy it :)

P.S. There is NOTHING new under the sun…

What your saying here is that Orman owns the concept of minimal design.

While I do know Orman doesn’t own minimal design, I do get that everyone on ThemeForest tries to do something like he does.

EVERYONE does things differently, there is no way you can design just like someone unless they majorly train you to. You’ll never have their exact same eye, and you’ll probably never share the exact same tastes. I have a few tricks for making nice gradients, but if I shared them, I’d probably see everyone using “my gradients” – would I be angry? No. I’d be happy that people care enough to do that.

Same for Orman, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe there was a thread similar to this a while back and Orman said he feels kind of happy when he sees someone trying to make something similar to his, because he knows they love his work.

Ok, now, can we see those tricks? :p

....THEE most rediculous, utterly unbelievable thread I have ever seen on any forum, any website, anywhere on the internet…

MartinStyle.. you need to step away from themeforest and start exploring design in other places.. the stuff that people are creating on this site amounts to about 0.01% of what people are creating on the web…

People were establishing concepts, trends and theories in print design when Orman was in nappies, before the internet even existed that we know as “clean, minimal” etc.

Sweet jesus you’ve got a lot of learning to do.
