It’s nice how Apple piles numerous “fixes” on the top of flawed ideology, instead of fixing the basics. Sorry, but this interface is far inferior to Windows 7 in terms of usability and efficiency. Someone tried those “innovative” fullscreen apps? Do they work? Not to mention that “innovative” icon drawer, which we had, since what, Windows 3.1?

Full screen actually works quite nicely in an IDE like Xcode and it’s not bad when working with photo collections. My screen is too large for it to be useful for web browsing, though (pages just float in the middle). It’s also nice for eliminating distractions to aid focus.

Admittedly launchpad isn’t the most useful thing in the world, but it’s good for new users who want a single location to find all their applications.

And I find that workspace efficiency is something that’s very personal and subjective. I can get more done more quickly on OS X or a Linux distribution running a decent window manager than I can on any version of Windows (despite being fully capable of using it). The Windows workflow and way of doing things just doesn’t click with me at all.

Downloaded and installed..

I kind of like the new misioncontrol and launchpad but I´m having some problems getting the hang of all these gestures.. i just don’t understand how they think people with a iMac and no trackpad will solve all these gestures??!

Hey hey, if you run into any issues with Adobe products check the link for known issues and work arounds http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/905/cpsid_90508.html

Is the new mail app good? I am amping to get Lion but have been stung a few times for the early adopting styles so I’m sitting this one out for a couple weeks (if I can last that long ;) )

I have a PC and Windows 7 :P
Im sorry…

PC’ers unite! RAWR ! Also, Windows 7 is actually a really robust and solid OS. I’ve had it for over a year, and have had one bluescreen the entire time, which is also pretty much my only OS-related crash. Don’t let the horrible Vista scare you. Windows 7 is definitely the new and more awesome brother of the old Windows XP.

still wait for Windows 8
I hear that.

The previews so far look amazing and having a tablet that runs a true OS is gonna kick @ss.

Win 8 could be a giant step forward for OS’s or a huge mistake for MS. Guess we’ll see in a year.

I’m really curious about it. I think it will either be a massive hit, or a massive fail. It seems to really push the boundaries of what we expect a computer OS to be. Time will tell, but certainly interesting times ahead!

Writing this from a 2010 MB Air, OS X 10 .7, Safari 5.1

Hmm, yeah..

- First thing: I switched from ‘Natural’ scrolling

- Safari seems improved, I like the back/forward animation, still gonna use chrome though :D

- really like that they included yahoo in iChat

- Mission Control is cool

- Launchpad seems useless .. I liked the applications folder, dunno if i’m gonna use Launchpad

- I didn’t liked my name in the top right corner – switched that off from Users panel

Just one question:

- HOW / WHERE is the zoom feature in the finder ? Really miss that :-s

Got it and love it. There are quite a few things like gestures that feel new but all together is awesome.

I feel it is a bit faster than Snow. Safari loads faster.

I am finally using Screens with the help of magic mouse. It was a pain to change between screens with Command left or right.

The fact that it is indexing the iMac is great. This way spotlight works faster. Love the wireless file transfer (Air Drop).

Love the new interface design and icons.

Absolutely love the way the windows appear just like in iOS.

Love mail. Making it the same as IOS is even better now. We will get used with both and not have to see 2 different interfaces anymore on ipHone and iMac.

For now I am solid. Love it.

Not me. It’s awful.
wait, what!?

I tried it 2 weeks ago and I hated it. None of the new features are actually useful to me but in return, Lion either got rid of or changed several essential features that I rely on a daily basis such as Spaces/Expose (no, Mission Control is a piece of shit).

I prefer to keep my computer operating system powerful, not dumbed down to match a mobile operating system.
wait. NO MORE EXPOSE ? I think you just saved me $30, friend.

Expose and Spaces are merged in a new feature called Mission Control which is basically the same — I can’t understand why one would say that Mission Control is a piece of shiz* if is the same thing.
