Hey everybody,

I’ve used a template from here for a clients site and they’d like a particular page to be viewable by members only. I could happily create this myself but was wondering is this something wordpress supports out of the box?

They need to be able to add/remove users as they wish when they join/leave and those members will be requested to login when trying to view a particular (read only) page…

Any hints much appreciated!

Matt

Hey Matt, it’s natively supported by WordPress, check this out:

Oh, and since you are mod, feel free to change a thread title from Wordpress, to WordPress :P

EDIT: Looks like I misunderstood :)

The feature I linked to restricts content with password protection, but users that are logged in will still have to enter a password to view the content, so it’s not really helpful to you (at leats not for the feature you asked).

Regarding wp-admin access, this feature (password protection) does not require such thing, all the interaction is happening on the frontend.

If you password protect a page anyone that has the password can view the page. Its the only thing thats protected, and you dont need a user account to access it.

Restricted Content Pro will allow you to block whole areas of the site to subscriber/user only
