Just wondering how this may be accomplished, I’m not an expert in Paypal…

I’m looking at adding a recurring subscription button to my site.

I found in the advanced options for this button a “return URL ” when their payment is successful…good.

How can I use this to return a dynamic ID of sorts to trigger on my end my site to activate their account? Just need some way to sync paypal back up to my site. Maybe I’m taking the wrong approach, let me know…

Thanks for any advice!

Probably best to google “PayPal IPN ”.

There are many PHP classes out there than can help you integrate PayPal IPN into your website. eg: http://www.phpclasses.org/browse/package/2249.html

After someone makes a payment, the instant payment notification (IPN) gets sent to a php script on your website. That script will check if the IPN is valid, and then it can activate the user account.

In your form, you can add a “custom” hidden field with the users id in it, this will get passed through to your IPN script when payment is made, so you can know which user id made the payment.

But yea, google is your friend, there are many articles on how to do IPN

There is a script (several actually) that can handle the task…and more. Try www.dlguard.com .

If your site is built on wordpress, you may want to try wishlist member… http://member.wishlistproducts.com/ .

Hope this helps some
