I’m looking to build a decent pc for editing videohive files,so far I have
Asus P6T SE motherboard with an i7 920 which I’ll overclock,24 gig ram 2tb hardrive, just wondering what graphics card you guys suggest. I wanted 32 gig but can’t find a motherboard that’ll get there as I’ve only seen 6 ram slots max. Any additional things you think I’ll need fire away.I can buld the system no problem just looking for professional advice from you guys.I don’t game so I’m not particularly fusses about having the best graphics card but was thinking a 2 gig graphics card.

I’d spend some money on a semi-decent graphics card. It’s the way of the future. They’re showing their worth for the most part in 3D at the moment, but more and more is being done on the GPU and I bet before the life of your computer is over that the graphics card will be being heavily used by most graphics applications.
I always used some middle range graphics cards, but as Felt said, the time is right to get some with a bit more juice. I got my self 2xGTX 560
Advice from me would be, get some SSD HDD and use it as your System HDD . Once you see this working you’ll never look back. For instance, AE starts in 7s, PS in 3s, etc…
Cheers!
Really appreciate the replies,I’ll invest in a couple of decent graphics cards, ssd will be getting bought today as well,I watched a couple of videos comparing them to normal hard drives, nuff said.
Looking at a 1200w modular psu and a blu ray writer and I think that will be the system complete.
Thanks again for the great advice
+get a good cooler for the cpu.
You’re right don’t want any heat issues.
