Photography Envato Market Place

I was thinking would be interesting if envato would develop another market place where photographers would share their stock images, i work a lot with photography and image manipulation sometimes is really hard to find out there good quality images. If an image would be around 5$ or more i really would buy that, i dont know i think would be another great market place where to sell good quality images,

What do you guys think, i dont know there an idea like this might alrady been proposed and i dont know, but in any case!

I would really like a marketplace for photography as I have some images I would like to sell, but there isn’t a section on graphicrvier at the moment that supports photos.

If there is a section, please enlighten me

also what could we call such site? PhotoDrive ?

I really like the idea and I dont really know why this is not happening.Im sure they are thinking of it becuase envato already has a photo tuts site.

its a really different market… istockphoto would be the biggest competitor..

I started a similar thread 1 – 2 years ago… I called it PhotoCanyon

we’ll see what’s coming next.. probably the new blog system and the collaboration feature

I would love to see a place for photohraphy. Maybe its just too much work to sort out all the pictures. As everyone has a digicam and thinks his captured sunset is worth uploading it

This topic really has been done to death to be honest, if you do a forum search you can see for yourself. I personally dont see the point in having such a site when istock is already so well established but time will tell on this one I guess…

Yeah it’s been done at least 4 times in recent memory. The summary was 3 fold:

1) It’s a saturated market (iStock, StockXcng, etc), and Envato would be coming in behind the curve 2) In order to compete the collection featured here would have to be massive which leads to the issues of storage space and bandwidth. 3) They’d need to hire enough approvers to stop potential slow down from everyone submitting their stock photos.

It would be nice to have, but they have reasoning to not do it.

those are names that give the impression there’s nothing (desert) inside. At least to me

it should have a color we haven’t yet…. a Grey color scheme… PhotoSafari with a Rhino as mascot… I can see it already
