I think it’s a tough call because, like MSFX said, the market is already saturated and I think Envato are doing a good job and should definitely focus on expanding the marketplaces that already exist before starting any more! :winktongue:

As soon as I get my hands free, I am starting a photography community/resources site.

I uploaded just a few conceptual photos of mine on the forums: http://themeforest.net/forums/thread/a-few-conceptual-photographs-of-mine-/31918

Like some of you are saying, the stock photography market is pretty flooded these days.

However, Envato has a captive audience here. Many of us buyers also buy on GraphicRiver and Codecanyon, etc. We’ve come to trust the product/service, understand the buying process, and think the prices are fair.

All in all, it’s pretty comfortable. So, as long as the stock photography marketplace falls in line with the other Envato marketplaces in these areas then I think it could do quite well.

I’d contribute to a photo marketplace. I am a professional photographer (along with a number of other things).

I’d agree, there are other competitors to GraphicRiver and ThemeForest, and Envato already has a userbase who will start off uploading to the Photo marketplace.

I think Collis is hinting too much about one, unless he’s double-bluffing.

If there was the opportunity to buy stock photos here I’d certainly be interested!

Everything in one place and encouraging more people into the community which will probably generate more sales in the other marketplaces.

I’m not stuff member, but I’d also like to add my +1 “vote” to this idea. It’d be great to have everything under one roof.

I’d totally use an Envato stock photo marketplace over any of the available ones. Most of the ones I’ve seen aren’t organized/designed anywhere near as nicely as “our” marketplaces. I know my photographer brother would jump at the chance to join the Envato marketplaces.

Make it happen, Envato!

I would buy tons of images if there was a low cost images marketplace here and I’m not a regular buyer, it’s so hard to get good images to use on previews without spending huge amounts of money…
