In Reason I use the “Five Meter Grand” sound a lot…sounds amazing to me. I also use the sampled Steinway piano that comes stock in Logic Pro. I haven’t used a sample library or synth dedicated to just piano. (e.g. Ivory ) because I’ve had great luck with stock sounds.
I’m so happy the thread turned out so nice
Lots of info and advice inside. Yeah.
I use pianoteq too, the last version where you can edit each key and detune it. It has a lot of cool things and micing positions you can design. Pretty cool! Of course a real recording of a real piano will always have noise and different sound than a synthetic one. I also have the one from native instruments but I dont use them much. The ones in NN-XT in Reason sound pretty cool too. Depends on the sound you’re looking for. cheers!
Just to let you all know, Soundsonline.com which develops EAST WEST QUANTUM LEAP is having a 75% off sale, ending soon!
The EWQL Piano set is the best on the market. I have been playing piano since I was five years old, and nothing I have sampled comes close to the play-back, texture, and layering which EWQL develops in their software.
Check out their sale.
