It realllllllllly is doing my head in, and is such an easy thing to implement.
It also must be soooo frustrating for authors, whos comment pages are in excess of 50…
Rather than members search for answers they end up just re asking the same old questions !!
Cmon pull your finger out, rather than keep releasing new marketplaces… can you please refine some of the intrinsic foibles of the existing ones

Totally agree although I wouldn’t say it was “easy” to implement. There are far more complications behind the scenes for the devs than we’re probably aware of.
I’m just gonna move this on over to site feedback so the proper folks will get eyes on it.

We gave it a go a while ago using our current main search system, but with over 1.2 million comments it kind of choked on the volume.
We’re gradually switching over to a new search system (starting with photodune) that hopefully will work on those kind of data volumes…. so hopefully we can add it in a future project.

Good to hear..
Still not entirely sure why it is so complex. All of the data is within the dB and is stored in I presume comment arrays with product id’s etc etc..
So it really shouldnt matter if there are a Billion comments in the system.. as you are already drilled down within the product comments.. when you are on that area…
To assume all the comments are within one array is quite scary and erm.. a tad daft. A good sql fella could whip up the correct db query in a few mins
Essentially, the request would only be > search via comments for product id “blah blah Blah”
