Wrong, I track if iframe is enabled (just curious) and from 279214 visits (2012) only 73554 closed it thats about 26%
Interesting data. Thanks for sharing!
@Jason – It’s quite difficult to arrive on framed-preview from outside the marketplace, that url never appears on search engines. In fact, apart from the main Envato link, all you can find is direct urls on author’s domain (and links to all-we-know-which-sites
)

The simple fix is to add a url param. JS example below. I’m sure it’s just as simple in Rails.
if(document.URL.search(“frommarketplace=true”) !== -1) addTheFrame();
Are we allowed to do this?

It’s a fix for Envato devs, not us

Good point. And after thinking about it some more, Envato probably likes adding the frame to “brand” our products. That and it probably also helps with click-through analytics. Still wish it was removed for in-house clicks though.
Or please, add at least another button or a setting in account to disable that frame.
This seems like a reasonable compromise; give ‘Power’ users/visitors the option to disable the header frame in their account settings area?

Can we get an official response on this, it’s such an irritant every time I use the site. Judging by the comments here, I’m not the only one that would like to see this ‘feature’ removed.
It can’t be a huge change?

Well I guess it also depends by authors will to do that, actually as an author you could disable it through a redirect, I’m guessing they get more sales/referrals with the frame.

I think someone posted the code a few weeks/months ago to replace that bar with a custom one and to include any other themes as well, does anyone know what the topic title is? Or a link? I’m interested in doing that too..

It obviously serves a pupropse, but I still hate it.
