I am a total ‘newby’ at this, and trying to do it on my own ;) When I am trying to upload the file I downloaded from themeforest to wordpress it is giving me the style.css error. I have read the other comments about this but couldn’t figure out how to solve the problem.

If someone could help me I would be forever thankful! :)

Thank you!! :):):)

I would suggest for you to follow the manual and do it step by step so you won’t get confused.

I think you are uploading the wrong file.

Usually the files you download from ThemeForest have two zip files. One that contains many things (help file, license, demo data, etc) and one for the theme itself.

When you upload your theme, you should upload this last one.

How can you know which file to upload ? Well just unzip the file and check if it looks like a wordpress folder (if it has the style.css file). If it does not, then you should be looking for another zip file in the package.
