Hi Everyone,
I have created some PSD layouts for a responsive WordPress theme that I will be developing over the coming weeks. It will be a corporate-style layout with flexible blog and portfolio options.
I’d really appreciate it if you could offer your 2 cents on the layouts as to which areas could be improved upon, or if you just want to drop a friendly compliment

No offence but very generic looking. Won’t be accepted.

Can you offer some suggestions as to how I could make it look less generic looking?
I’ll also add that the slider background and footer backgrounds will have a colour picker embedded in the demo & admin panel so that users and manipulate the theme’s colours to make it more unique. Additionally, I’ll be included around 10 different textures (grunge, bokeh, retro etc) that can be applied to the backgrounds to make the theme less generic.

James
features add some more creative features, work on typography.
Honestly I’d start over. Sounds harsh, but there’s nothing you can really do to this which will make a big difference. At least nothing short of changing all of the content, and then it’s just easier to start from scratch.
Simply put.. Be more inspired by your own ideas and don’t look at the high selling WP themes so much. Try to come up with something unique.

Simanto- can you be more precise on what you don’t like about the typography?

Monkify- can you be more precise as to what is wrong with the design that would merit a restart? I have spent a good amount of time researching the themeforest market and from what I’ve found, there isn’t a responsive WordPress theme on the themeforest that gets it quite right. Yes, there will be a lot of similarities with my theme and the highest sellers, except the highest selling WordPress themes are not responsive. That’s the selling point of my theme and the focus of its development.
Thanks for your replys so far everyone, keep them coming!

I totally agree with @EireStudio and @Monkify.
This theme is very basic and generic, there are far better ‘responsive’ themes already in the market place.
Your going to have to come up with something much better in terms of uniqueness, design and make sure everything is spot on. You have lots of issues with overall design, spacing and typography.
You’re also using far too many type faces, its making it look messy and unordered.

Seriously, I could replicate this design in 15 minutes which says to me that users wont see it as premium.
