Hi,
I’m starting a Wordpress Theme development. Can I use some plugins that are licensed under the “GNU General Public License v2.0”?
I have tried to find the answer here, but I’m still unsure. Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can… ;)

But, no need to include them in your download file. You need to explain clearly that your theme requires these plugins in both item description and theme documentation…

Ok. But what if the template requires a plugin to display the menu correctly? Can I include the plugin, install and activate it by default?
Thanks once more

your theme shouldn’t require any plugins to work properly… think of plugins as a feature or extras in the theme

what is the plugin for displaying menu? Menu is important part of your theme. So, it is better to make it your built-in feature, not using third party plugin…

btw, you can check previous discussion here… ;)
