I have a PNG template that needs to be converted to HTML /CSS. I know Fireowrks can do it but, as far as I know, the results are pretty poor.

I’m more of a Designer than a Coder so I’d appreciate any inside knowledge/tips on how to convert a PNG to a HTML /CSS site please.

It’s a good time to learn how to slice up an image and code the HTML /CSS yourself. ;-)

There are tons of great tutorials around the web on how to do this. Check out the TF Blog and net.tutsplus.com first.

Thanks but I have the design ready – it’s nice but too complicated for me to do it myself and I don’t have the time it would take me to learn how to go from a rough Photoshop-created HTML file to 4 nice CSS pages.

I looked at the tuts but they seem to jump from a PSD to perfect CSS ..and considering I’ve been up for 27 hours trying to resolve this project I’m guessing I’m just too thick….and grouchy ha ha ha (:

I looked at themes on TF to see if they’ve got the same sort of layout (I’m v.good at customizing templates) but again, the preview images are too arty-farty for me to just see if they have header-left nav-content so I have to click on every theme that MIGHT be of use individually and wait ages for the live preview to load…it takes so long to load I got bored.

Anyone got a good quote please £? $ ?

I’ll code it for you for $45. Although it would be good to see a screenshot first just to make sure. :)

One thing that will make this very easy for you is a software package awaiting approval. I’ve just uploaded my php script that changes how you code your page so .png images will work right in IE and the rest.

Keep an eye out for png-img.php in the php scripts…
