Preview Images & Naming Conventions

So I recently uploaded my new Word Press theme

Problem comes in where I have 10 preview images, the naming convention of 1_preview.jpg 2_homepage.jpg etc. makes the 10th image 10_adminpage.jpg the top image in that group it seems like.

So next I tried adding a 0 to all the images, 01_preview.jpg vs 010_adminpage.jpg the 010 page still took the first spot.

Finally I gave up and just swapped the images, and resubmitted again. I also logged a query to try and find out what the right naming convention should be.

Anyway just wanted to give everyone a heads up if you are planning to have 10 images that 10 will take preference over 1, so name your preview image 10.

To have the system put them in order, use two digits only. For example.

01_imagename.jpg 02_imagename.jpg ... 09_imagename.jpg 10_imagename.jpg 11_imagename.jpg

They’ll stay in order all the way up to 99 then.

Isn’t there a limit of 10 screenshots anyway?

I don’t actually know, that’s a good question. I would imagine there’s certainly a limit of less than 15 or 20 though, lol.

I’ve submitted a theme a while a go with more then 25 screenshots just the way xmdsys has explained, so i think it’s up to 99.

Yep. Just prefix the first 9 with a zero.

Will keep this in mind for future templates, thinking of it now didn’t know why I added zeros to the others… :/
