I would like to ask if Envato is planning to make prices higher on audiojungle? I believe that standart price for single track in Royalty Free Music business is $30… ok that’s too high, but what about making highest price at least $18-$20? I think audiojungle is very popular and it’s ready for changes like this. As my research (based on selling my other music i am not selling here) shows, making price higher does not decrease number of sales. That’s because usual buyers are companies with big budget accounts and they don’t care a lot about a few dollars. Say what you think about it!
I agree with you, also I think the price is too low for standards
Are they charging $30 for one time use on things like youtube videos and websites, or does that $30 cover everything? Because that’s what the standard (cheap) license covers here. Audiojungle also offers an extended license, which can cost as much as $70 per item.
And I don’t necessarily agree with companies not caring about a few dollars. Large corporations might not, but small businesses trying to squeeze every dollar might be inclined to shop around.
I just suggest $18 for standart. $70 for extended is ok for me.
Ok adammonroe let’s say you’ve got your track to audiojungle which takes about 1 minute and cost 11$ , someone is going to buy your track, you get 5.5 dollars, if it’s real price for serious artists? or to the advertising campaign five dollar One coffee?
You don’t have to convince me – I like money – but I doubt they would increase their prices that much. Maybe shoot for a realistic, incremental increase – $2 or $3 dollars. They were going to increase the price to $16 a little while back, but decided not to do it.
AJ Prices are way way way too low. I bet they could go between $24 and $29 dollars and not miss a beat. I have had clients come to me directly to license a track because AJ’s prices were so low they didn’t think they were legit.
Also, they raised prices on Themforest and it did not appear to have any kind of negative effect.
There was an announcement made a long time ago that a small increase of $2 would occur, then it went all quite until the issue was raised the forums (repeatedly), to which the response was “no price change”. I know from my own personal experience that I get similar sales numbers on other sites at around the $30 range, with similar licensing terms, so the market will and DOES bear a higher price mark. I’ll also add that the going rate on those sites are 50% for non-exclusive but that’s another matter altogether
I agree with author…price is SO low for standards
Only increase 1 or 2 dollars no more.
In chess, if you make a mistake, you pay dearly.
Let’s leave it at that.
