Private author discussion group.

We have been asking for a private author forum multiple times with no luck.

i’m not blaming devs, i know they are always busy with other (eventually more important) things to do regarding marketplaces.

however, many feels this is somewhat needed for us to discuss arguments related to this place from author’s point of view.

a possible workaround is to create a private google group: it works like a mailing list, you read and write messages by mail and also has online archivers.

i’m opening this 3d to see if other authors are interested
also, since ii dunno if i’m missing some envato rule against this, i won’t post the link until i got an official response.

there is a private staff forum but i’m not allowed, I just see thread titles that end up back at the forum home page lol

The problem with this section is that is too open to be called private . I mean.. any dude that makes one preloader can be called author and access the private thing? Or they need only to apply as authors?

...what about a minimum brown paw? ...100$ in sales makes it pretty legit as author

Yep, I agree with bitfade’s idea. A private forum/ group/ author list would be great for us developers to talk and share some stuff that buyers have no interest in.

For example, today I was wondering if I should post in the forums about a buyer that requested me to do some modifications on a file. This buyer wanted the file as soon as possible and I declined some projects I had because this one was supposed to be more profitable. It turns out the buyer decided (almost a week later) he didn’t want that file anymore.

The private forum would serve the purpose to report and name this type of behavior, so we can alert each others about which buyer we should all put on our “black list”.

so.. we know from MSFX that there is already a function for private forums.. now we just need to bug envato to add that thing for us too.
