Hello Guys,

I currently experience some issues with photoshop masks. To be more specific: I applied a gradient layer mask to a partially filled smart layer to achieve a fade out effect. The problem is that when I scale this layer, the mask shrinks covering only the part of the layer with filled pixels. Normally this should not cause any problems, the fact though that I have a Gaussian blur filter applied on this layer leaves a small part of the edges unmasked (the blurred part I guess). How can I resolve this? Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance

Ohh, i hate this feature :) Why does Photoshop do this??! I don’t know.
You can easily solve it, just turn off the link between the layer and the mask. Scale your layer or modify it and turn back the lock.

I have managed to spot the problem after spending sometime experimenting but thanks for your reply buddy!!! The interesting part though is that it only affects the visual appearance of the psd file and once I saved a .jpg it was flawless. I guess it ’s a program bug. :/
