I was extremely bored so I decided to put together a little tiny poc piece with minimal plugins.
My goal was to build a simple theme to let users submit links.
the theme only uses 4 plugins.
gravity forms (for the link submission)
theme my login (for the themed login/register)
page links to (for permalink redirect)
pretty links (for autocreating a tiny url for each link submission)
here are the features I added.
- minimal css design
- google fonts
- ajax link submissions
- twitter style ajax more
- popup search
- clean search urls ex: domain.com/search/keyword.html
- limit submission 1 per 24 hours
- ajax archives
- ajax a-z link loading
is a live test site.
thoughts?
Nice, could use a little more whitespace though. Not found of that typography either but that’s a personal taste i guess.
It needs clear and readable titles, hyperlinks and text and no google fonts, it distracts from the hyperlinks. Put the focus where it’s needed.
Droid sans or PT sans for titles and arial/helvetica for content and links is my suggestion and create more space between elements to improve readability.
